AUG. 22 -- LUDLOW 29, GALLATIN COUNTY 28

Ludlow senior Logan Doane scored two rushing touchdowns and caught a 3-yard pass for another score in his team’s 29-28 season-opening win over Gallatin County. Doane’s third touchdown -- a 4-yard run early in the third quarter -- gave the Panthers a 1-point lead that they maintained for the rest of the game to come away with the victory.

Two sophomores were Ludlow’s offensive yardage leaders. Running back Matthew Reusch rushed for 104 yards on six carries and quarterback Devlin Carter completed 5 of 13 passes for 100 yards, including a 60-yard scoring strike to junior wide receiver Michael Camarena.

The Panthers finished with 348 total yards (248 rushing, 100 passing). Gallatin County had 310 yard (232 rushing, 78 passing).

AUG. 29 -- LUDLOW 42, BRACKEN COUNTY 0

Ludlow scored three times in the first quarter and rolled to an easy victory, finishing with a 301-92 advantage in total yardage.

The Panthers’ offensive leader was sophomore quarterback Devlin Carter, who had two touchdowns rushing and completed one pass for a 37-yard touchdown to running back Logan Doane.

Doane also had a rushing touchdown in the first half. Ludlow’s other two TDs came on runs by Jeremiah Martin and James Tackett.

SEPT. 5 -- PARIS 20, LUDLOW 7

Paris scored with less than a minute left in the first half to take a 13-7 lead and kept Ludlow out of the end zone for the rest of the game.

Ludlow’s only touchdown came on a 2-yard run by quarterback Devlin Carter early in the second quarter. The Panthers finished with 116 yards rushing and 104 yards passing for a 220 total. Paris nearly doubled that with 431 total yards.

SEPT. 12 -- BARDSTOWN BETHLEHEM 53, LUDLOW 23

Ludlow had 337 yards in total offense, but three turnovers and 110 yards in penalties hampered the Panthers.

Ludlow quarterbck Devlin Carter completed 7 of 16 passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 91 yards on 23 carries. Michael Camarena caught two of the Panthers' TD pass and Trent Ledbetter caught one.

SEPT. 18 -- LUDLOW 16, BROSSART 7

Brossart scored the game's first touchdown on a 5-yard run by Garrett Ahlbrand in the opening seconds of the second quarter, but Ludlow's defense stepped up after that and the Panthers came away with the victory.

In the final seconds of the second quarter, Ludlow sophomore quarterback Devlin Carter dropped back to pass and couldn't find an open receiver, so he ran the ball and scored on a 63-yard play. Carter then ran in a 2-point conversion to give his team an 8-7 halftime lead.

Early in the third quarter, Ludlow defensive back Trent Ledbetter intercepted a pass in the end zone to keep Brossart from regaining the lead. It remained a one-point game until the final seconds of the fourth quarter when Ludlow running back Jeremiah Martin scored on a 7-yard run. Martin then threw a pass to Tyler Durham for a 2-point conversion to give the Panthers a 16-7 victory.

Ludlow finished with a 182-137 advantage in total yards. Carter rushed for 97 yards on 20 carries and completed 4 of 12 passes for 25 yards to account for most of the Panthers' offensive total. Ahlbrand and Craig Pfefferman had to share the quarterback duties for Brossart because senior starter Clay Kramer is out of action due to illness.

OCT. 17 -- BELLEVUE 20, LUDLOW 14

Bellevue was able to overcome three turnovers to pull out a win in the Class A district game that wasn’t decided until the final seconds.

Bellevue took a 20-14 lead on a 1-yard touchdown run by senior quarterback Tate Grainger with 5:48 left on the clock. It looked like Ludlow had a chance to win the game after a 62-yard pass play from sophomore quarterback Devlin Carter to Trent Ledbetter moved the ball to the 8-yard line. But the Panthers weren’t able to put the ball in the end zone as Carter was sacked for a loss on two of the next four plays.

Bellevue had the bigger night offensively, compiling 332 yards of total offense compared to Ludlow's 170. Ludlow's defense kept the game close by intercepting a pass and causing two fumbles. Both quarterbacks had similar passing stats. Ludlow sophomore Devlin Carter completed 6 of 18 for 134 yards and one touchdown while Bellevue senior Tate Grainger went 7-for-18 for 130 yards and two touchdowns.

Bellevue receiver Zach Barrett had four catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. Most of Bellevue's offense, however, came from Alec Hazeres, who ran for 158 yards on 30 attempts.
