AUG. 22 -- LLOYD vs. WASHINGTON COUNTY

Lloyd dominated the game with its rushing attack, picking up more than 300 yards and scoring five if its seven touchdowns on
the ground.

Sophomore running back Justin Durham carried the ball into the end zone twice for the Juggernauts and junior wide receiver Charles Gaines caught a pair of TD passes from senior quarterback Hayden Molitor.

 

SEPT. 5 -- LLOYD 42, HOLMES 18

Lloyd sophomore Leshunn Townsend rushed for 134 yards, caught a 71-yard touchdown pass and scored again on a 73-yard kickoff return.

Both quarterbacks also had good games. Hayden Molitor of Lloyd had one touchdown rushing and two passing while Desean Brumfield of Holmes completed 17 of 37 passes for 356 yards and two touchdowns.

 

SEPT. 12 -- LLOYD 47, OWEN COUNTY 14

Six players scored touchdowns for the Lloyd Juggernauts, who ran their record to 3-0.

The first two touchdowns came on pass plays. Leshunn Townsend caught a 21-yard pass and Eric Bruner caught a 30-yard pass from Lloyd quarterback Hayden Molitor, who was 9-of-16 for 140 yards in the game.

The Juggernauts also got rushing touchdowns from Townsend, Justin Durham, Charles Gaines and Bradley Creech.

SEPT. 19 -- LLOYD 44, GALLATIN COUNTY 12

Lloyd scored touchdowns on its first three offensive possessions to take a 27-0 lead and kept on rolling to the victory.

Sophomore running backs Justin Durham and Lashunn Townsend scored three of the four rushing touchdowns for the Juggernauts. Another sophomore, Alex Runion, returned the second-half kickoff 72 yards for a touchdown.

Senior quarterback Hayden Molitor also had a rushing touchdown and senior place kicker Sergio Guitierez booted three field goals and five extra-point kicks to account for 14 points. With 45 seconds left in the second quarter, Guitierez set a new team record when he kicked a 49-yard field goal.

Lloyd finished with 304 total yards (183 rushing, 121 passing). The Juggernauts got most of their yardage in the first quarter on scoring drives of 60, 42 and 52 yards.

 

SEPT. 26 -- NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 28, LLOYD 0

NewCath junior running back Jacob Smith rushed for 148 yards and sophomore quarterback Patrick Henshen passed for 90 to lead the NewCath offense that picked up 336 yards in the Class 2A district win. 


Smith had one rushing touchdown and John Harris had two for the Thoroughbreds. Griffin caught a TD pass from Henschen for the team's other score.

Lloyd turned the the ball over six times, including four interceptions. The Juggernauts were also penalized 12 times for 110 yards and finished with a net total of 132 yards in offense.

OCT. 3 -- LLOYD 50, HOLY CROSS 20

The Juggernauts were able to get 423 yards of offense while holding Holy Cross to 246. Lloyd quarterback Hayden Molitor smoked the Holy Cross defense, going 12 for 15 for 194 yards and four touchdowns. Lashaun Townsend caught two of the TD passes and scored on a 50-yard run. Justin Durham also had an impressive night, rushing for 109 yards on 14 attempts and one TD.

 

Holy Cross running back Xavier Abernathy scored his second touchdown on a 2-yard run late in the first half to make it 21-14. But Lloyd got a touchdown and two-point conversion just before the first half ended and then ran off 21 straight points in the second half.

OCT. 11 -- LLOYD 49, BROSSART 28

Lloyd scored a touchdown late in the second quarter to take a 28-14 halftime lead and carried that momentum into the second half to post a victory in the Class 2A district game.

Sophomore running back Justin Durham scored four of the seven touchdowns for the Juggernauts. His scoring runs of 53, 40, 26 and 58 yards accounted for 177 of his team's yardage total. Lloyd senior quarterback Hayden Molitor threw TD passes to Josh Gaines and Zach Riddle. The team's final touchdown came on a 75-yard fumble return by sophomore linebacker Alex Runion.

Brossart senior Clay Kramer returned to the starting quarterback position after recovering form mono and threw touchdown passes to Frank Cetrulo and Joe Donnelly. Cetrulo also scored the Mustangs' first touchdown on a 6-yard run.         

 

OCT. 17 -- LLOYD 42, PENDLETON COUNTY 6

Lloyd took a 22-0 lead in the first quarter and cruised to the victory with six players scoring touchdowns. The Juggernauts’ rushing touchdowns were scored by Justin Durham, Eric Bruner, Bradley Creech and Zach Riddle. The other two TDs came on passes from quarterback Hayden Molitor to Charles Gaines and LaShaun Townsend.

 

OCT. 24 – NEWPORT 51, LLOYD 19

 

Newport senior quarterback Paul Price rushed for 202 yards and five touchdowns in the win that decided second place in the Class 2A district standings. Price also completed 8 of 14 passes for 153 yards and one TD for the Wildcats, who finished with more than 600 yards in total offense.

Lloyd sophomore running back Justin Durham scored two rushing touchdowns for the Juggernauts, who were unable to keep up with Newport’s high-scoring offense.
